I feel the same way that is why I want to know what the majority are doing. It is such a confusing decision. I am going to ask my doc at my next appt. I kind of hope she says no, you know?

I think I decided to get it. I even called my OB today to ask if they would be getting it but the receptionist was all sketchy, like I was asking for an appointment to score cocaine. But they won't have until the end of the month so I'll keep researching and decide in the office.

I am not getting it. I got the regular flu shot. I'm going to protect myself by going the germaphobe route. I'm not having my 2 yr old get it, either.

I'm going to wait a bit, maybe a few weeks after they release the shot, to see if any immediate problems, then I'll decide to or not.
I'm making DH get the vaccine as well as regular flu, and working from home, but if I were working (I work in the city) during pregnancy I would totally get it.

i m afraid to. my dr hasnt even mentioned it yet but i never got the flu shot before i was pregnant so i figure especially that this is new and we dont know effects of it, i dont want to take the chance...

Getting it, or at least I plan on getting it. I havent spoken to my dr. yet but if they recommend NOT getting it, then I wont.
I get the regular flu shot every year and always have when pregnant.

My Dr. seemed adament that I get the regular flu shot, but not convinced about the swine flu shot. He said the regular flu shot is a DEAD virus that could not possibly make me sick (I've never gotten it b4). He said it will protect me for delivery, and prevent me from getting the flu later and exposing my newborn to it.
I'm not going to be first in line for the swine flu shot. I want to wait and see what happens. DH has to get it cause he's in nursing school and doing hospital rotations.

No way-I am not getting either. I don't feel like pregnancy is the time to experiment for me. Especially since I had a horrible reaction to a medication I would never have expected to react to in a million years that almost killed me in February.
I don't trust the swine flu shot.

No way am I getting it. I'm not sure if this is true, but I've heard it has mercury (or formaldahyde - some nasty chemical) in it so I'll take my chances. I won't get the regular flu shot either, it's not something I've ever done.

I'm not getting it. I never get the regular flu shot either. I asked my doc about it and she said that swine flu is a flu - that's it. I'm not getting some new drug that no one really knows the long term effects of, especially while I'm pregnant.

I don't want to get it. I've never gotten the regular flu shot. DH keeps talking about how Preggo women have a higher chance of getting swine flu but I don't want to take a drug that is very iffy. Especially while being pregnant.

I don't know. My OB is pushing HARD for ALL pregnant women, and esp those in healthcare, TO get it. They did say, however, that the biggest push is for those in the 1st tri since it is unclear of how the virus could effect the fetus that early.

work is now mandating it for me but i spoke to my ob and feels it is unneccesary and agrees with my mentality that it is just a virus that got alot of publicity... and it is.... so i am going on leave early (i work as a per diem so it is only random shifts)

yeah ive heard that some places are mandating it. I think that is CRAZY. How can they MAKE someone get something they dont feel comfortable w/?

My dr's office is pro-giving it. I am not sure if I want it yet though.
I did get the regular flu shot though at my last visit. I got it for the first time last year so I figured I would get it again.

exactly! I just find it too experimental at this point to give it to anyone in the house.... but work is just out of control with all these mandations... apparently we do not get the option to choose what we do with our bodies...

Nope I am def not getting it. I have never gotten the reg flu shot either. I have never gotten the flu. My doctors office is for it. But when I go tuesday i will decline it if asked again.
