Re: Italian girls
OK, so DH's dad is like 2nd or 3rd generation Italian. They said they are from Ischia and that there was some battle there and someone from Dh's family is famous in one of the towns because he caught a cannonball with his hands....there is a statue? I don't know about all this...LOL. No one has been there in years..Dh's dad has never been. I am dying to go! My parents town is very small and I've been about 5 or 6 times in my life. I LOVE it there! we had plans to go this coming summer, but since we will have a 3 month old, we are thinking we might wait.

Re: Italian girls
Wow a lot of Southerners on here! I don't have an ounce of Italian in me-- my parents are from Ireland, but my FIL is from northern Italy. He is from a small town in the mountains called Macerato. The closest big place would be Piacenza. The biggest cities nearby would be Bologna or Milan, and even those two are a good 2 hours away!

Oh thats so interesting about the cannon ball thing. I'm gonna ask my mom...she came over when she was 16 so she might know. If you ever have the opportunity to go to Ischia please do!! Its so beautiful

Both my parents were born & raised in Italy. They are both from the North.
My mom is from Borgo Val di Taro - Parma and my dad is from Ponte dell'Olio - Piacenza.
Closest major cities would be Milano or Bologna.
My cousins & myself are all first generation American.
