Baby Shower Etiquette (Please Vote!)

I've been looking at shower invites online for my own shower. A lot of the samples have a list saying "Registered at ..."

Is it tacky to mention where you are registered on the actual invitiation ? I always thought there should be a seperate note enclosed or that we're suppose to rely on family to spread the word during the RSVP?

Please give me your thoughts.Chat Icon

Re: Baby Shower Etiquette (Please Vote!)

I think with how common registries are nowadays it is fine to put it on the invitation. I really don't see much of a difference with putting it on the invitation versus putting in a separate card.

Whoops, I just voted "no" because I thought I was saying no, it doesn't matter...but what I meant to say was yes - do it!

I think it's fine for showers, where the purpose is to shower the mom/bride with gifts for her new baby/home. It's helpful for guests.

I don't like it on wedding invitations though.

Do it...people expect it. Use a sweeter way to say it, like "wishes for our little one are registered at..."

I've never seen a baby shower invitation that DOESN'T say "Registered at..."

Unlike a wedding, a baby shower is specifically meant for showering the new mom/parents with items for their baby.

And I also think it's easier to just put it on the actual invite, the small inserts can get lost or misplaced, but usually people will keep the invite until the date of the shower.

Re: Baby Shower Etiquette (Please Vote!)

I agree the purpose of a wedding/baby shower is the gifts. I mean come on it's the truth Chat Icon NOTHING is more frustrating then getting an invitation to a shower and having to track somebody down to find out where they are registered at. I also agree on a wedding invite it is tacky and has no place, but that is another threadChat Icon

Re: Baby Shower Etiquette (Please Vote!)

My mom did it on my shower invites-I think it is very helpful to know where people are registered. So I like seeing that on a shower invite personally!

ITA and it helps the guests out. DH's friends wife had a baby shower last year and didn't even mention where she was registered so i had to search all the stores online to figure it out which was a pain in the a$$ Chat Icon

Re: Baby Shower Etiquette (Please Vote!)

I actually haven't seen it on invites. There are those little registry cards that the store gives u when u register and u stuff it in the envelope w/ the invite. At least that's what I always see with my fam and friends. Both means to the same end though, lol.

I really don't think it matters. I get them both ways... to me: I get nervous to lose all the little bits of paper when they are seperate.
