Vent- Baby fever so badly!!

I keep telling myself that I don't want a baby, but I really do. DH and I agreed to wait 5 years...ah! We want to buy a house (not a tiny starter home), finish our masters & travel the world. I know i'll be glad I waited but it's so hard! My best Friend is getting married in 3 months and they are trying for a baby right away. I always wanted to be pregnant with her

We aren't going to have any help from family with a baby. Im gonna have to put my DC in day care. If I can just wait till we finish school, I can work part time and be home with DC more.

Im 24 & Dh is 26. Another good reason 5 years won't kill us. I just keep dreaming about our baby & seeing baby stuff everywhere.

I know the feeling!

DH and I got married relatively young (I was 23, he was 26) and we decided to wait around 2 years to try for a baby. Well.... let me rephrase, DH decided we should wait 2 years I had baby fever ever since the honeymoon!!!!!!

Now it's 1.5 years since our wedding we are are currently TTC

So, I have a few points I want to make here. One is, take advantage of the time now that it's just the two of you. We have had an amazing first 1.5 years of married life just the two of us. We could wake up on a weekend morning and our time is ours. We could do anything we want and don't have to worry about caring for a baby... who will watch it if we want a romantic dinner alone...... etc. So remember, there are MANY advantages to starting out your marriage without a baby!

The other thing I will say is..... you say now that you want to wait FIVE years. That's a LONG time! You are likely to decide after 2 or 3 years that it's your time to start. That's what happened with us, so we're starting sooner than originally planned. You have no idea how your plans will evolve

We also married young (24) and decided to wait a while before TTC - probably 4-5 years as well.

I am just starting my career and wanted time to get established, we are living in the city in a 1br which isn't exactly baby friendly, and we are not sure if this is where we want to settle down.

We've been married 15 months and 'll admit I get a twinge of baby fever here and there, but we both know this isn't really the right time for us. We are enjoying this time, and don't want to feel like we missed out on anything.

i know the feeling. DH and I want to wait at least a year or so. But it is so exciting seeing my nephew and my friends have babies. i know it is best that we wait but i'm starting to get the itch.

We thought we were going to wait awhile before having a baby and that has changed since we got married. I'm 26 DH will be 29 soon. We wanted to wait until I was 28 but now we plan to start trying sometime next year.

We are compromising. I'm still taking classes towards my BSN, he's taking classes towards a certificate in his field. We wanted a house before baby but now we will wait to buy, hopefully before #2 if it doesn't happen before #1.

I know how you feel! 2 of my close friends are preggo and are having there babies 2 months apart. I wish I could be pregnant with them but we arent going to try till this time next year.

My girlfriend is planning her second around the same time we are planning our first. So that will still be exciting!

I had the baby fever bad. Luckily DH had it too. We started ttc when we were married 5 months. Now out little one is due in Jun. We both just turned 25.

I have baby fever bad too! im younger than you (23) but we agreed to wait another year before we try, then hope to be preg the beginning of 2011...but my sister is preg and so is my SIL, so im like surrounded by these preggos and i just feel like its my time to get preg too! but i have to stick to the original plan

I got married when I was 23 now i am 24 and pregnant with our first..Dh had baby fever ever since we got married, I wanted to enjoy 'US' time and we did for a year and half and now ready to enlarge our family!

We both have baby fever...in 2010 I'm turning 31 and DH is turning 35.

We are going off the pill at the end of this week.

We would love to have the surprise of getting pregnant, and never "trying".

I was fine up until a couple of months ago, if we stick to our original plan we'll start trying like Summer/Fall 2011 -- I just don't know if I can hold out that long anymore!! I would like to make it to the 2 year mark. DH is in no rush though

I know I shouldn't be on this board as we are married almost 17 yrs- but I had the same experience. We were 21 and 23 when we got married and had our 1st child 5 yrs. after we got married. We planned it that way. We traveled a little, had fun, bought a house. We also did not have much family around and our babies (who are 5 yrs. apart-again planned that way) went to daycare as we could not afford one of us to stay home.
The time really DOES fly by and now our kids are 6 and 11 and they are a handful-lol!!
Enjoy your time together as a couple and when the time is right, you will know it--

We did not marry young, we're both 32, but dh still isn't ready. We are off the pill now, but aren't going to actually try until this summer. Till then I torture him with possible names and nursery decor.

So funny that this is posted b/c I was going to post something similar! I have baby fever really bad right now which I am surprised about. I always wanted to wait so that DH and I can travel...however, I feel like my priorities have changed greatly since we married in Sept. I feel like we have been together for 6 yrs and have traveled so much...my fear is that "planning" the right time sometimes bites you in the butt bc you never know if your will be able to conceive easily. I read stories on the TTC board where many women are having difficulty...say I wait 5 yrs and then have a difficult time...then that puts us back even further. DH is 31 and I worry about these things. I really want to begin trying in Aug. DH doesn't seem to be too keen on the idea but I am not going to bring it up again until the summer is near...

I know how you feel. Me and DH got married in June 08 and the past 6 months I really have been having baby fever. It is funny cause I always was nervous about having a baby and was like oh no way I want one soon because I felt as if my "life would end". However, things changed around 6 months ago when I held one of my cousins twins for the first time. It was then that I understood the glory of having children and have been having baby fever ever since. I have been stalking the pregnancy and parenting threads to help this fix!!

DH is having a slight bit of baby fever as well but we want to wait until after he graduates in college in May and until he gets a new better paying and stable job. Our goal is to start trying in 2011 or 2012..hopefully I can wait that long!!! Only thing I have to keep me going is I keep telling myself we are young (I'm 24 and DH is 26)

I have the fever badly.. We just got married september. First we decided to wait until I finished my MBA, then we decided to wait 3 years (regardless if I finished or not).. then we decided 2 years.. and now we decided to start trying in October. We keep moving it up and DH wants one SO bad hes practically begging. I am just a little nervous bc I am not sure I am ready for my life to completely change!

My DH and I also married young. I was 23 and DH was 25. I wanted to start trying right away, but I knew financially we werent there yet. Now I have been married for 2 1/2 years (we were married in Sept. 07) and we just started trying this month. But in the 2 1/2 years I was able to complete my masters and start a career, my DH was able to finish law school and we just closed on a house.

I know that the itchy feeling is sometimes so hard to fight, and I would watch baby shows all the time, but now looking back, I am glad we waiting, because now I think that we are both in the right place to have a baby. So now lets just hope that my TTC journey is short and sweet. Lots of baby dust!!

Getting a puppy has really put things into perspective for me. He is ENOUGH work, it's about all we can handle.

Im not sure what I was thinking!!! Im over my baby fever 110%
