Certification Questions
I have a few cert. questions if anybody can help??
Currently I am a T.A. in a middle school, because I couldn't find a job, as I am health and phys. ed. certified. Now I realized that I love working in special ed, so I'm looking into getting a student with disabilities certification. I'm confused on which one to get or which is most beneficial...
Should I just do middle childhood or early or adolescent?? If I do, middle childhood, would a general one be better, or a specific one, like in the sciences? Where are the jobs at?
Thanks for your help!! I really want to get a job related to special ed, but didn't know what was the best cert. to get

Re: Certification Questions
you'd have more jobs as a middle or high school certified teacher.
i THINK the way it's set up right now is that middle school certs are general, but you have to specialize in a subject for high school.

Re: Certification Questions
As a high school special education teacher, I would definitely recommend you do high school with a specialization in either math or science. There is a shortage of special education teachers certified in high school now, because of the new certification rules.
