Billing at Fertility Clinics

Hi Ladies,

I just need to vent. I am currently at NSLIJ and dealing with their billing department in simply aggravating.

Twice already, they claim that they contacted my insurance company and that two different procedures were not covered. Being that this is my third cycle and I have a lifetime maximum for IVF benefits which I am choosing to pay for, I am meticulous on making sure I know what exactly is and is not covered. On both occasions, I called the insurance company and they told me that no one ever contacted them and those procedures in questions are covered under my policy.

So ladies, if anyone tells you that something is not covered, call your insurance co and verify. Going through this is hard enough physically and emotionally without getting short changed.

YES YES YES!!! I cannot tell you how many problems I've had with NSLIJ's billing department. It has caused so much stress for me. I loved my Dr. there but receiving those large bills month after month for things I know are covered by my insurance, and then having to wait on hold for 20 minutes to talk to someone, just to have them mess up the billing yet again, has been beyond frustrating!

the billing for anything done there is the same. Unfortunetly Im dealing with it too
