Re: Breastfeeding...
Don't worry about taking classes- it truly isn;t something you can prepare for.
Know this: it's REALLY hard at first. Sometimes you'll feel like your LO is literally camped out on your breast. I promise you- it does get better. The more support you get from your family, the more successful you'll be.
The best piece of advice I ever got was to find a lactation consultant in your area. Mine was such a fantastic source of support. I used this site to find mine:
Lactation Consultants
Finally, know that you have TONS of support over on Parenting to get you through those first few weeks.

Honestly, the class I took made no difference whats so ever!!!!! It's such a hard process and you really learn by doing.

I agree with Amy 1000%! Kellymom is a great resource. La Leche also has some good information although some of it I find a little too "alarming." Also, I found that most of the nurses in the hospital were so helpful. They really helped me through those first few days.

Re: Breastfeeding...
You could also attend La Leche Leauge support meetings, prior to the birth

ITA with all of this (she always says things so well!).
Find a good lactation consultant--I am in NC, but mine was a godsend. She showed me the proper way to get DD to latch, and that's what I was doing wrong to begin with--she wasn't latched properly and she drew blood on both sides the day she was born .
There's no preparation beforehand--how it goes will depend on your baby. Some babies take to it right away, and others need a little guidance.
But if you stick with it, it's totally worth it in the end! It's definitely one of the coolest things I've ever done

Re: Breastfeeding...
make sure you use the nurses and lactation consultants at the hospital every time you are going to nurse so that by the time you leave you are a pro/better at it. I had a lactation consultant at my pediatricians office which was a big help. I def. recommend it.
