chair rail molding
does anyone know how hard it is to do chair rail modling? we want to put it in our DD's nursery and we were going to hire someone but we were quoted $300 and i'd rather do it ourselves and save the $$. TIA!!

DH did chair rail molding with beadboard under it in our DS's nursery. The beadboard was a lot of work b/c he had to make cuts into it for outlets and windows. Once the beadboard was up the chair rail just sat right on top of it so it was easy to finish. (they make a kind that is just a capping). DH has never done it before...his Dad helped but I would say if your DH is somewhat handy maybe he should give it a try! I think if you are just doing the chair rail that would be even easier, you would probably need a laser level though.

If you are just doing molding its not bad. We did it in our dining room and it was pretty easy. Home depot sells some pretty cheap all you would need is a chop saw and I would recommend a pneumatic nail or staple gun. But old fashion hammer and finishing nails would work too. I also recommend if you are unsure how to do it do a youtube search! We did crown molding which is a lot more difficult and youtube was actually the most helpful information
