A ton of questions
Ok so I miscarried exactly four weeks ago today. I got my period full force yesterday. I double checked with a pregnancy test that I wasn't still miscarring and it came out negative. My period is a lot heavier then normal, clots and all..So my first of many questions is..Can i wear a tampon this cycle? Second, is it normal (or good or bad) to get your period only 2 1/2 weeks since the bleeding stopped? Also, my doctor said 3 full cycles and we were going to start trying after 2, did anyone start earlier then they were told and have good/bad results? We got pregnant the first time we really tried and then lost the baby at 7 weeks. I naturally miscarried and the doctor believes it was a blighted ovum...Should I start using OPK's to figure out if I still ovulate at the two week point?
I need all the advice on any of these topics...
Thanks :)

Re: A ton of questions
I got AF about 4 weeks after the start of the miscarriage. Unfortunately, after a miscarriage it can change your cycle. It def can make your first period more painful with cramps and a lot heavier...( that's what happened to me too). Your ovulation date may change, mine did after a m/c. I would def suggest using OPK just to be sure.
You should be ok to wear a tampon. I did that first cycle having AF.
I know my Dr told me to wait 1 cycle and then I could try again. Every Dr says anywhere from 1-3 months. I know of a few stories where women got pregnant again before AF even arrives, and went ob to have a healthy pregnancy.
I think it's best to usually wait atleast one cycle, so you can make sure everything is healed.
Hope that helps!
Sorry again for your loss! Stay positive, b/c you will get pregnant again soon!!!!!!

Re: A ton of questions
AF came back for me two weeks after I stopped bleeding from the DNC at around 4-5wks. Yes I have so far seen a difference in my recent 2 cycles. I would wait a cycle and then use a opk to see when you O.
If the OPK doens't work for your 2nd cycle give your body another month HTH. Both my sisters' got preggo again after a M/C around 4 or 5 month .

Re: A ton of questions
I'm glad AF came! funny how that works huh? yes a very heavey period is normal. My periods were actually heavier after I m/c. And actually i became more regular after it also..lol odd. My doc said wait 1 cycle then you can start trying. I do know a friend who got pg even before AF showed, but the problem with that is you can't time your pregnancy and it may be scary b/c they have no idea how far along you should be....but you have to do what's right for you. I waited to use OPK's. I still hoped that it would happen fast again for me like it did the first time...I guess its up to you how you feel about it?

Re: A ton of questions
My dr told me to wait for AF to come once because mine was natural, and wait for 2 afs if I had a D&C. I got pregnant again right away and so far it is going well.

Re: A ton of questions
Thank you. We are going to wait until July and start trying again. That should be 3 months and 2 full AF's. I hope it happens as fast the second time :)

Re: A ton of questions
I wouldn't wear tampons either...mine was so heavy at points it almost felt like I was peeing blood. and the clots make it worse so you'll fill up that tampon pretty quickly...I think pads may be safer to keep you from embarrassing situations. (sorry if its TMI but even with pads I bled so much over 2-3 hours that it soaked through)

Re: A ton of questions
don't wear tampons for at least 3 cycles I was told. It's to limit the risk of ANY type of infection. you DO NOT want an infection after all you have been through.
Also, the heavy and clots of this period are normal. The DNC never gets EVERYTHING out... some has to come out naturally.. and that's what it seems like your body is doing. I too had the same thing as far as clots and stuff are concerned.
I was told to wait 1 cycle before trying again. Everyone seems to be told something different... and I believe that's because each situation is different. I'd say if the dr said to wait 3 then you probably should wait 3. better to be safe than sorry. And there might be a reason for waiting 3 cycles for you.
