Our CPSE meeting is tomorrow... Update
and he tested out of SEIT services, which he still needs. I'm hoping a letter from his teacher is enough to qualify him for next year.
I've decided that I'm not taking "no" for an answer, although I'm not really sure that's an option. I'm really nervous, and my husband has to work.
Anyone have any experience with this? Any tips?
Update: We had the meeting this morning. They are doing pretty much what you said Amy... We are starting the year with SEIT 2x60 until November, then we will have another meeting and take it from there.
They advised me to put him in the UPK as opposed to private school. It's still a typical class setting but they think it will better prepare him for kindergarten... It's 18:1:1 though which I think is a lot for a typical student, nevermind my super hyper little dude.
I'm really not sure if that is the right plan but I'm willing to try it until November. So we will see....

Re: Our CPSE meeting is tomorrow...
a suggestion... in case the district really wants to say no to it.
see if you can get a transition period... where htey have the seit with him and phase it out to see how he would do without it. (rather than going cold turkey by dropping it over hte summer)
this way, if they see the continued need for it in the fall, you can push for a re-eval then.
i know someone who got a transition set up like that when they wanted to get rid of the kids PT whic he had most of his life. this way she knew he was ok once he was fully in the school setting in the fall.
