Can someone tell me does it hurt?? I am really nervous

mine hurt a little when they inserted the tube - it was quick though

definately take advil beforehand just in case

It can hurt, but its only a few minutes. Take motrin or aleve at least one hour before.

Mine felt like minor AF cramps for a few minutes...nothing bad at all, and I even forgot to take advil before the procedure.

I think it depends on the individual, but mine was very uncomfortable, but I wouldn't say painful. once they started to inject the contrast I felt bad menstrual cramps, but once it was done that was it, there was no discomfort afterwards. Definately take some motrin or tylenol beforehand.

ETA: I just read that you are really nervous. I was very nervous as well and put if off for a few months because I was so nervous, but it definately was not as bad as I thought it would be.....good luck

Uncomfortable, not painful. I took 3 advil before and i think it really helped. It's realllllly quick too!

definately take the 3 advil beforehand.
don't take tylenol- it's dangerous w/ this procedure.

for me, it was very uncomfortable and painful and i had cramping. (my cervix isn't normal and the dr had a hard time getting the catheter in me which is why mine was so bad).

but, for most people, it's just some minor discomfort and maybe minor cramping.

you may have some bleeding for a few days after the hsg

The test is very quick, and it's a little pinch you feel.

it was painful for me, i had a blocked tube. felt like bad cramps. but as soon as the procedure was over (it was quick), the cramps went away.

I didn't take any Advil before the procedure but I felt no pain at all. But I was just so very nervous .... Take 2 Advil and you should be fine

Didn't hurt/feel a thing! I took a motrin right before hand.

thank you everyone for your input , I have put it off the past few months..... did anyone get pregnant shortly after, My OBGYN says that it happens

Mine hurt! im not gonna lie BUT it was just during the procedure. when its done the bulk of the pain stops too. After mine i just had some cramping but nothing unbearable.
make sure u take something b4 though

I was told not to take anything beforehand, and, I think my experience was unusual, but I had pain, turned white, and my heart rate changed...I think it had to do with my uterus and the tube, but afterwards, I just was uncomfortable, had cramping and spotting, and took tylenol after...rested a bit and then was fine...my dr. told me the same thing, but unfortunately, we did not get pregnant after this procedure..good luck!
