Re: Munchausen Syndrome?

Several years ago when I worked with the severely mentally ill, I had a client with it. Her mom was a nurse. It was CRAZY the things the client did to herself.

Re: Munchausen Syndrome?

I've handled disability cases for people who had Munchausen's syndrome in addition to other mental health issues and I know someone now who might have it.

Re: Munchausen Syndrome?

yes, one of my first cases was a mother with it and I thought I was the one going crazy because she had all these accusations against medical professionals and the phone calls never ended. In the end, her kids were taken away from her and the father got custody. It was such a scary case because I was working in a real Lifetime movie of the week.

Yes....

More than 1 actually....

I think it is something that is becoming more prevalent. With the internet its very easy for people to google symptoms etc and either fabricate an illness or bring themselves to believe that they actually have an illness.

The internet is full of individuals suffering from Munchausens by Internet.
