6 months of TTC with no luck... Dr visit?
HI Girls:
I am 34 years old, and I am currently 10 DPO in my 5th month of TTC. I took a test this AM, and I got a BFN. While I know I am officially not out this month, I am not convinced that I am going to get a BFP! (but I am still hoping for one!!!!!)
Due to my age (I think), and that I do not already have any children, my Dr told me to make an appointment if I did not have any luck within the first 6 months of TTC. SO, I am wondering what happens at these appointments. Does she do tests, give me any sort of meds....etc? I am also wondering, if I do become officially 'out' this month, should I make the appointment now. I believe I have seen girls go to the Dr at CD 3. Is this true? What is the importance of CD3, if any? I do not know anything about this process, so I am looking to see what the next steps usually are!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: 6 months of TTC with no luck... Dr visit?
I went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and she gave me a script for blood work, which consisted of various tests including FSH, prolactin, etc. She said it had to be done day 3 of your period b/c your body releases a certain hormone around this time (I read that you can do it anywhere between day 2 and of your period). I went on day 2. She also gave me a script for a pelvic sonogram. I am 32 so I am nit sure if there is a big difference in what your doctor will have you do.
