Empire insurance question

Hi, Im just starting this process and I have a question for anyone who has Empire NYSHIP.

I called Empire and they gave me a list of procedures that the plan covers but I realized after I got off the phone and read it again that IUI wasnt on there. Is that possible? Im going to get a copy of my plan but Im sorta freaking out a little....

Re: Empire insurance question

You should call back and get the specifics, but I know I have Empire and got a list of procedures that are covered, but also was told that I have a dollar amount that can be used for infertility treatments.

Re: Empire insurance question

I have empire NYSHIP and they cover IUI. You can have as many as you want and you isn't consider a procedure that counts towards your lifetime max. And you don't have to get approve in advance for IUIs but you Have to get advance approval IVF and that comes out of your lifetime max.

Thank you so much!! Im very relieved, the Empire representative told me the dollar amount for procedures and then gave me the list of procedures that are covered but I guess IUI wasnt on the list bc it doesnt count toward the dollar amount. Im going to check with them again and get a copy of my plan but Im def much calmer now Chat Icon
