Sounds like I'm going to be laid off today. Update #2!!!!!

Update #2: Well I have been laid off. It really hasn't sunk in yet, but I am doing okay. I have a job til then end of August which I suppose is a good thing. I will get my resume in order tonight and start looking for a job tomorrow. I did not cry when they told me which really was my main goal. I know I will look back at this and see this all happened for a reason. Truth be told I hate this job and laying me off has given me an opportunity to find something I really like.

Update: So far our Acct Mgr is moving on to another account and one of our transactions manager has been promoted to thier job. As of now they are calling everyone else to speak with them personally. I'm still feel sick, but felt much better after talking to DH. So now I sit and wait. The HR person said they didn't want to disrupt our day. Way too late for that.

So came in this morning to find an email to discuss our account contract and HR is included. From what we have speculated we have loss the account which means we have no more work. I am sick right now. Not sure how we are going to survive with only one income. The meeting's at 12:30 and it honestly can't come soon enough. I can't believe this is happening. I know everything happens for a reason and deep down I know we will be okay, but I can't help but feel completely lost. Will we lose our home, can we afford to eat, what will become of us. Agggh, I am hating life right now.

You are right, everything does happen for a reason.

Are they willing to compose a letter of recommendation for you? Maybe that will help your process in finding a new job a little?

So sorry to hear that. Are they offering you a severance package? Maybe you can also apply for unemployment if you haven't found something new by the time your last day rolls around.

good luck, i hope something that you truly love comes along. when i was laid off i cut back on all "optional" expenses - manicures, cleaning service, shopping for clothes. began cooking and being more conscious of not wasting food/leftovers. i am sick of being unemployed and pinching pennies but I'm happy it forced me to get certain things in shape - like how I'll definitely not be as wasteful of food going forward, and am more conscious/appreciative of certain things. this will carry forward even when i have a job. so some good things have come out of me being unemployed. also knowing how supportive DH has been. things I'd never have known before.
