What is a good professional grade camera?
My dear friend is looking to purchase a camera.. She loves taking pictures.. Not for a living but for fun.. does any one know of an inexpensive professional grade camera out there for someone who just wants to have fun? TIA Also if you know how much it is that would be very helpful. ..

Re: What is a good professional grade camera?
I didn't mean to mislead you. The D90 is NOT a professional grade camera.
By your description, I took it to mean that she doesn't know f-stop,ISO, shutter speed so I suggested the D90.
The D700 is an amazing camera but it has no auto button for an amateur photographer who is just learning. Whereas the D90 has an autofeature & she can grow into it as she learns more about photography.

Re: What is a good professional grade camera?
I'm no pro, but I love my Nikon D3000. It's easy enough for me to use, has plenty of good features, and takes really nice pictures.
How it compares to the others, I can't say! I think it was around $500.

Any of Canon Rebel's. Easy to use, take professional looking pictures. Fun to play around with. You can buy it at B&H for sure. They range from $550-over a $1000. I love mine.
B&H Link
Some come with one small lense to start.

ITA. Anything above the D90 (in Nikon) does not have any auto mode functions such as "sport", "portrait", "landscape", etc.. with preset settings. It would be fully manual on speed, aperture, etc...
I am talking D300, D700, etc... those are truly "pro" cameras.

Re: What is a good professional grade camera?
I just recently got the D90 and I love it. I am still learning and I think it is a great camera to do so on.
