How much is going rate for a babysitter (3 kids)
I found a few girls who can babysit for us that were assts. at DS's camp. The one girl is in 9th grade, she was terrific with the kids. I asked her what her rate is and she said she doesn't like to ask for a lot, she wants people to be able to have the money to go out. I know, crazy!!!! Anyway, I of course want to pay her enough to make it fair to her. Right now I am just thinking about some nights where we would be able to go out together or if I needed her and DH was working. I have 3 kids - 8, 6 & 4. There would be times where we might want to go out before they are in bed. They are pretty good about going to bed but it's still 3 kids. So anyone know what would be the going rate on 3 kids these ages?

I have two kids and pay $10 per hour. The girl who baby sits for us said the same thing to me. I asked her how much other people pay and she said between 8-10 depending upon the number and age of the kids.

I have 2 kids and pay the teenage sitter $10 per hour

I have two kids and one girl charges me 10.00 and hour and the other is 11.00 an hour. If I need one here to do something and my DH is coming home from work and it is just an hour, I end up paying them 15.00. I just feel bad giving just the 10.00, otherwise we just calculate by the hour and my DH usually throws in a few extra dollars. My younger DS (2) is almost always sleeping and my older DS (4) is usually always up.

I have three (10, 7 and 5) and use a 16 year old. I pay her 15.00 an hour. The only reason is because I have three and she is the daughter of a very good friend. I do think 10.00 - 15.00 is the going rate.

we pay $15/hour for 2 (but I think she charges 10) I know it seems silly to pay her more, but she is our older son's former pre school teacher, a certified teacher, mature and just wonderful with them! We also don't use her that often (my parents are free), so whenever we are in a bind, she is there for us.

For 2 I pay $10 an hour but she is a friend. I've asked around and the going rate around here is $10 for one and $5 thereafter. I would pay her $15 an hour. enjoy.

I think between 12-15$/hour would be a reasonable rate.

I have 3boys ages 12, 5, & 3. I have two diff sitters but pay both of them $10 an hr. They don't charge for my 12 bc he can fend for himself  But if he were younger I would think $15 is a good rate for 3. JMO
