Another if you delivered at Stony Brook question..
I recall before you went home there was a state-mandated Mommy 101 type of class you had to sit in on. I'm all for info, but the rebel in me made me 
Anyway, since this will be baby no.2 and I'm obviously a PRO now at mommyhood ( ), do you have to take the class again???

yes, you need to watch the shaken baby syndrome video. i believe you also need to sign something that says you saw the video before they will release you.

It's a discharge class and it's mandatory for everyone. It's quick and painless. Honestly, I'm glad they have it. Some people are clueless!

yup, you need to go. PSA: DON'T take the stairs down to the maternity floor! I took the stairs down, and the door on the other floor was locked. i walked back up, only to find that door was locked too. i was trapped in the stairwell for 45 mins banging on doors until a janitor found me!

Stairs!  God Bless! I could barely walk down to the end of the hallway for this. It was a short class, you can talk about any issues you're having there too, ie bf'ing or if you need more formula ect.

I delivered my second there & I didn't go.
ETA: I did have to sign something tho saying I am aware of shaken baby syndrome & promising I wouldn't shake the baby.

I was feeling invincible until I ran up and down the 5 flights of stairs 10 times (and it was about 120 degrees in there).
