Re: Straw Sippy cups

We started now at 11 months and he figured out how to drink from it all by himself. We left it around so he could pick it up when he wanted to and he'd put it to his mouth, roll it away, shove it, etc and 2 days later he was drinking out of it like a pro Chat Icon

Re: Straw Sippy cups

At 6 months old we introduced the straw sippy cup...but I only did because I found one at BBB that said for 6 months +. I tried and and she drank from it instantly. She has been using them ever since.

Re: Straw Sippy cups

I've had it with regular sippys - no spill - yeah right, tried a nuby no-spill flip it cup - it has a straw and looks more like a sports bottle..

DD took to it instantly @ 1 yo... and NO SPILLS!!!

WISH I would have tried this sooner!

found them @ Walmart $2.96 (I think)

Re: Straw Sippy cups

DS is 11 months and has been using his for about a month. We actually bought the ones that look like sippy cups with the handles. I think he likes them better than sippy cups!

Re: Straw Sippy cups

I tried off and on since 12mo... she ALWAYS hated it. I'm talking the true no spill sippy straw versions.

Finally I gave up

But she took to drinking from a straw (regular type) around 14mo I guess.. i only guess because I tried it once and she did it as if she'd done it for years. Only a few times did she try to lift the cup. I finally got one of those straw sippies that have a 'catch' at the bottom so it can't be taken OUT of the cup and she loved it (mickey actually).

Re: Straw Sippy cups

DS just started to "get" the regular playtex sippy (he's 10.5 months). He does know how to drink from a regular straw though, so maybe I should try giving him a straw sippy.

Re: Straw Sippy cups

Around 7 months...I remember the ped told us to introduce the regular sippy at 5-6 months and he had no concept.
I was at a friends house and he crawled over to her daughters straw sippy and just started drinking...I stopped on the way home and bought him straw sippies....Chat Icon
