Had my first OB appointment after my D&C...

its been two weeks since my D&C and my OB told me that me and DH can start trying again immediately. This was my second MC. The first was in April at 4.5weeks (a very early MC, possibly a chemical) and this last one was at almost 9w, the baby stopped growing at 6w. I have an appointment with Dr. B on Thursday to test the reason for my reoccuring MC's. Do you girls think its weird that my OB said I could start trying tonight?!!? It has only been 2 weeks since my D &C!!! I am going to wait until atleast Thursday, since I already scheduled an appoinment with Dr. B. But she just didnt seem concerned at all. It was so strange. She said many women suffer from 1-2 MC's and she had a friend that got pregnant 2 weeks after a D&C and just had a healthy baby. Sorry for rambling, I guess I am just a bit confused. How long did you ladies wait or were told to wait after a D&C?!?

I had a D&E because I was further along and was told 8wks.

If I were you I would wait till your Dr.B appt. My fear would be getting pregnant and then worrying that something might happen This way you can have Dr.B look into everything and fix any problem that might be there. I think it's worth the wait, personally.

But did you get your period yet since your D&C if it was done only 2 weeks ago? If not, I wouldnt think its possible, b/c then how would you be ovulating or knowing when you would be??

Also, I think they say to wait one whole menstrual cycle b/c your lining needs to thicken after a D&C.....and apparantly that is needed to support a viable pregnancy. But Im all new to this stuff as well. Im just going by the zillion message boards I have visited. : /

But Im sure many have conceived immediately after their first AF, and it was fine.

Trust me, Id be willing to hurry too but unfortunately, Id rather be safer than sorry. But I assume your DR knows best.

I got PG with DS 2 wks after a complete MC at 8 wks. So it's possible. I would have waited if I could but we couldn't for timing and work reasons...

ETA: I was ultra paranoid the entire pregnancy. If I waited I don't think I would have been as loopy about it.

I had 2 d&cs and both times I was told to wait 2 cycles. Id see what Dr B says but he's one of the doctors who told me to wait 2 cycles even when I asked if we could try again after just one. He said the swelling still needed to abate.

I've heard so many mixed responses as far as how long to wait... Good luck with whatever you choose to do

Drs all have different answers as to how long you should wait. My friend is 6 months pregnant. She got pregnant right after her D&C.

I was told to wait until I got my period after the D & C and then I could try right away. Good luck!

I also had a D&C and was told by my doctor to wait 2 full cycles before starting to try again. He did tell us that it is possible to get pregnant right away, as a matter a fact our friend got pregnant 2 weeks after her D&C, she never got a period, but he said he felt more comfortable with me waiting if DH and I would. We followed doctors orders and are now 7 weeks pregnant and I feel great that we waited.

I was told to wait three cycles after my D&C at 8.5 weeks.

I was told to wait two cycles after my natural m/c at 8.5 weeks - I'm still waiting for AF #2.

I was told to wait to cycles. But, I do know people that did not wait at all and did get pregnant and had healthy babies. But, I don't know it does sound weird and I would also question as you are. I'd wait to talk to Dr. B.

I was told to wait one full cycle.... we did.

but here we are 9 months later (after waiting that one cycle) not pregnant....
