GLIDER- getting one or not?

I am torn on whether or not i should buy one and i need to decide soon because i am due in 11 days!

What are your thoughts? Would love to hear from moms who used/didnt use them and what was the alternative if you didnt use them.

Thanks ladiesChat Icon

Re: GLIDER- getting one or not?

Yes, I just got one a few weeks ago. Someone bought it off my registry and shipped it to my house. It is from BRU and it was only $200 for the glider and ottoman and I sit in it every night in the nursery looking forward to the day I get to rock my baby on it Chat Icon

Absolutely on my list. A wise choice for someone who wants to have another child in a year or two..

Re: GLIDER- getting one or not?

YES!!! I bought one as part as DS furniture and it was a blessing! When DS would wake up in the middle of the night with reflux, or when he was teething I would sit there rocking him. I also sat with him reading books before bedtime. I love my glider, I plan on using it for baby 2 also.

Re: GLIDER- getting one or not?

We have one from DD#1 and we still use it. I absolutely loved using it with her and am thrilled to have it for the next. For us it was money well spent.

Re: GLIDER- getting one or not?

we have one. i thought i'd use it more with #1 but it serves more as a clothes rack than a glider.

Re: GLIDER- getting one or not?

Never thought I would use it with DS. It wound up being a must have. Used it every night and still do.

Re: GLIDER- getting one or not?

I got one off craigslist for $50.

I rarely use it.

I have a reclining couch, I preferred BFing on the couch in the living room. I was able to watch TV while BFing instead of sitting in the nursery. The couch is more comfy too.

It has come in handy on a couple of fussy nights though.

Re: GLIDER- getting one or not?

I actually got one off of craigslist cheap and just bought new cushions and repainted the frame. We and DS loved it. It was so comforting to all of us. I highly recommend one.

Oh, and we got one with a ottoman. It really helps to have one.

Re: GLIDER- getting one or not?

My baby girl is 8 weeks old and I could not live without it!! Everytime she wakes up @ night I sit in the glider and BF her and rock her to sleep.

The BEST thing in the nursery by far!
