teacher certification exams
has anyone taken them online? I jsut went to register for the cst and now see this is an option. Im looking for some feedback before i register. Its more $$ but with a toddler and being pregnant ( i would take after baby is born) its so much more convient. I was shocked to see this is offered...isnt it easy for people to cheat??

Wow. That wasn't an option for me. But I am with you. while convenient, I don't see how it's legit.

I would check very carefully- ITA with MissJones. Unless there's a testing center I'd wonder how they can make sure it's you. When I took my exams I had to show ID and wasn't even allowed to have my phone. Security's pretty tight.

Maybe it's online at a testing center where they can watch you?
When you take it, they take your thumbprint to make sure it's you, so how would they prove it's you taking it?
Last time I took a CST, the guy actually counted the pages when I handed it in to make sure I hadn't ripped any out.

I just looked it up because I was so intrigued with it! You can take certain tests online at testing centers Monday through Saturday. Its a neat option to have.

It is legit!
You go to an approved testing center. A friend of mine just did it. She said it was worth the extra $$.

i took one while pregnant and another with a two month old and it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be.

i'm in the middle of taking my exams too - they offer them on the computer, not online. you have to go to a testing center to take them but you can go on a day and time that you schedule and is convenient for you  i'm not sure if it's true for all of them but i know that at least one will give you a preliminary score at the end of the test so you have an idea of how you did. of course this doesn't include the writing portion so it's not a real indicator of whether you passed or not.
