Seriously pregnancy brings out the worst in people..

People really need to learn to keep their trap shut.

About a month ago my lovely sister kept insulting me. She basically said I look like I have a beer belly and that my face got chunky. She was obviously poking fun of my weight. Now this past week she says "did you lose weight? Because it's really unhealthy to lose weight during pregnancy". Mind you I have gained quite a bit and my bloating is starting to go down a bit. Some days I look huge but than other days my stomach is more flat. You girls all know the deal with bloat. She basically made me feel bad that I'm unhealthy. And then she goes on to say that my hormones are so out of control when I retaliate against what she says. Seriously right now?! This girl has never been pregnant nor does she know anything about being pregnant and she has the nerve to tell me what's normal. She basically said she will have a perfect pregnancy and that her hormones won't be like this and that she Will not feel bad at all when people criticize her.

I'm getting so irritated with her right now. Nothing that comes out of her mouth is nice anymore. I'm so fed up.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I can't believe she is so mean and shallow!!!

Just to reminder that you share the same genetics and I hope she gets the short end of the stick when it's her time.

She also watches everything I eat and will take a cookie away from me and give me fruit and say eat this, its better for the baby. Not looking forward to eating on Thanksgiving this year with her...

She also watches everything I eat and will take a cookie away from me and give me fruit and say eat this, its better for the baby. Not looking forward to eating on Thanksgiving this year with her...

You girls need thicker skin. You need to not feel bad for anything you eat, drink while pg. Tell them to go scratch. People have no filter with pg ladies, until you tell them to go fly a kite, they will always bug you. Stop feeling bad and stand up for yourselves. It will shut them up. Jmo.

I would just tell her I'd love to see her when she's pregnant, and when she does get pregnant I would not hold back at all..give her a taste of her own medicine, even now if you can with stupid snide remarks

I think the next time she says something, you're going to have to say "If you keep this up, I'm going to teach the baby how to call you 'Aunt B!tch' and explain exactly why." If she still doesn't get it, tell her "Look, this isn't about you and it isn't about a competition of how we look. This is about my having a healthy baby inside me, which apparently I'm doing everything right to do. Your attitude, though, is not helping and I'm not going to continue to listen to you talk about my weight this whole pregnancy. Go buy the baby some clothes and keep your trap shut."

Sometimes tough love is the only way.

If it were me, I'd just laugh at her foolishness. The way your body looks is soooooo not important right now. Try to understand that this IS such a thing as an honestly "happy fat girl" who isn't pregnant, and embrace your body for what it is, now and for always.

I have a lot of sisters and although I love them all we have no problem telling each other to shut the F up!!! Thats what I would tell your sister. And when she becomes pregnant then she can lecture you on what you should and should not be doing!!People have such nerve! Dont let her walk all over you!

Your sister would have had a field day with my pregnancy then. I gained a total of 3lbs and because I had GD, I lost most of what I gain in the beginning.

Tell her to STFU... tell her she has no business commenting on your pregnancy considering she has no experience. Tell her hormones or not, what she is saying is RUDE and INAPPROPRIATE and you're not overracting. Tell her she is being a terrible aunt to your future DC by putting so much undue stress and unhappiness on you. And tell her to STFU (yes, I realize I told you to tell her that already, but it should be said again).

People have no filter - regardless of relation
My sister always calls me fat - while I only gained 6 and most days don't look prego. But she was prego 2 times and I never insulted her. I just ignore her and move on - and if she really pushes it I have her pics of when she was nice and big that I will whip out!!

I would try to ignore it as much as you can - your Dr. knows all about you and what you are gaining and if they are fine with it, then that is all that matters!!
I think sisters think they can be meaner cause they are related - but what goes around comes around that is what I keep telling mine

I'm sorry you have to deal with this, I dont understand why people think pregnancy is an open invitation to comment on everything. Tell her it is upsetting you and if she doesnt listen I would step back a little bit.

I'm sorry she's saying those things to you, it's so rude and even worse when it's your own sister. I agree with JennZ, tell her to shove it and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
