Crashing: stony brook midwives
Hello, I am not pregnant yet but am currently looking for a new OB since dh and I plan to TTC very soon. I was just wondering if anyone could provide feedback on the stony brook midwives (specifically the east moriches practice but I would love any info in general)? I also would really like to know about their approach on sonograms. I have done some searches on here and can't seem to find the answer. Do they do they same amount as any other OB or do they only do a few? Will they work with you on this? Thanks!

Re: Crashing: stony brook midwives
Hello I see the Stony Brook Midwives but I have no experience with the East Moriches office. They delivered my frst DC and will be delivering this child as well. They also do my regular OB vsits as well I love them! very personable, extremely caring very helpful. As far as the sono goes they typically tend to have less than most OBs. Depending on the midwife you may get a sono to determine how far along you are if they don't offer ask . If you choose to you will also get the scan at 12 weeks, also one at 20weeks and then nothing until after 40 weeks. HTH

Re: Crashing: stony brook midwives
I switched to the midwives at 36 weeks with my last pregnancy, NO regrets, they were awesome had a great delivery. However, my OB DID bill my insurance for delivering a baby, I didn't even go into labor yet but that's a whole other story

Midwives are the way the go.. I know they get alot of slack.. but they are great if you are low risk.. and you want a unmedicated birth
