Got my Nook
I couldn't wait for it! I am technologically challenged so it took me a day or two to get it figured out. I downloaded my first book from the library and am ready to go. Just need to get my WiFi connection linked.

Yes. From the library site I downloaded an adobe program. Then you connect your Nook to the computer and drag and drop the book, just like adding a song to your ipod.

Yes. From the library site I downloaded an adobe program. Then you connect your Nook to the computer and drag and drop the book, just like adding a song to your ipod.
I did that. Is it the adobe digital editions? The book shows up in that program after I added it to the nook but does not show up on the nook. It tells me I need to register but my account information on my nook shows that I am registered.

When you transfer it to the nook it does not go into the library, it goes into my files, and then the digital editions folder. It took me hours to find my Books!

I see them in my documents but when I click on them it says user not activated even though I am on both adobe and my nook. I consider myself semi computer literate but this is getting ridiculous

Do a search for fabrichick, I'm pretty sure she had a similar problem and posted how she fixed it. I want to say it had something to do with re-registering or something but I might be wrong.

I figured it out! I had to re-register twice but I did not have to reset to factory settings. The first time I re-registered it stopped recognizing my nook in ADE. I'm posting this for future reference in case anyone has the same problem. I had to re-register my nook twice and then I had to have it plugged in before I opened ADE. When I opened ADE it asked me to authorize the nook and then I was able to open library books with it.

Glad you got it working.
Also, in case you have issues I really recommend going to the store. The customer service line is not great and they of course, don't want to assist you with free books bc they want to sell them to you! But now the sales people are handing out fliers on how to get library books.
