Kindle Vs Nook?

Hi girls...
Just thought I'd ask if anyone out there has recently purchased a Nook or a Kindle? Im looking into purchasing one or the other and just want to hear of any reviews you may have...

Thank in advance!

Re: Kindle Vs Nook?

Here's another, with a link to yet another site about it on the last post

I have to say, I love my Kindle (2nd generation). I've never used a nook though so I have no comparison. The only thing I know about that I like on the Nook over the Kindle is the ability to borrow from the library through it.

The library that I work for has a few different e-Readers on-site for residents/patrons to test out before buying them. They can't leave the premises, but a librarian will sit with the patron to go over the features & to answer any basic questions that they might have. You might want to call your local library to see if they do something similar. Sometimes it helps to have them in your hand & to try downloading & whatnot first... HTH Chat Icon

Re: Kindle Vs Nook?

I have a Nook & I love it. My parents gave it to me for Christmas & I have used it everyday since.

One of DHs friends has a Kindle & Nook. He says they are both the same. He is a big reader & likes being able to get any book he wants on an e-reader.

Re: Kindle Vs Nook?

I have a Nook and love it. One of the big reasons I got it was because I can read library books on it which you can't do on a kindle.

I've had a Kindle 2 for about 2 years, and I LOVE it. I'm not crazy about the Nook color b/c it had a backlight and it seems to be very bright. The Kindle is gentle on your eyes.

Thanks so much everyone!! I've heard the droid is coming out with a few new tablets as well that I'll look into. I really want the kindle based on the reviews Ive read but borrowing from the library seems like a big plus for me!!

Re: Kindle Vs Nook?

Kindle! You can't read the Nook color outside due to the glare on the screen. Also, the Nook color is back-lit like a computer so it will cause eye strain. I have a Kindle and I love love love it. No eye strain at all.... and I only use it to read books, not surf the web, or read magazines. I have no need for a color feature.

This is why I have the nook b/w. I love it. My sister has a kindle so I see they are similar, but for me the nook won hands down because I could borrow books from the library.

Re: Kindle Vs Nook?

I love my Kindle! The Nook color looks really cool. But I didn't really need a color screen and the Kindle was much cheaper so it won out. No complaints so far Chat Icon

I have a kindle and i love it. I like that the lighting makes it like reading a real book so you don't have to worry about the glare if you are at the beach!

I really like my Kindle for travel, etc - it feels like you are reading a book. However I also have an iPad and do not read on it at all and don't intend to. I think its just too large and I don't like the backlight for reading.
