Oil to Gas
Does anyone know how much it would typically cost to transfer from oil heat over to natural gas? We have natural gas in our house now and we are just casually looking at new houses. So many seem to be oil and DH would want to convert. TIA!!

Re: Oil to Gas
it matters if there is a gas line in the street - you get a 100 ft for free to connect but anything over you have to pay
i think it is around $7-10,000 mattering on the boiler and if you need a new water tank and removing the old tak

Re: Oil to Gas
We just converted from oil to gas last month. It does depend on what system you get from national grid. They do run specials on them monthly. We also got a new indirect hot water heater. In all, we spent around 5,000. That includes all equiptment, and the cost of the plumber, which included installation of the new system, and removal of our old system and oil tank. I should add that we already had gas in our house, that is what we used to cook with.
