you know, up until recently i would say that i 100% wanted kids. i love them, i work with them, i loved my own family dynamic with my parents.
and i would always hear people say how people who didn't want them were 'selfish.' (my sister and BIL have decided not to have children.)
recently, i have begun to think more about bringing children into the world, and i almost feel selfish HAVING a child.
when YOU decide to get pregnant, it is for what YOU and your spouse want, not for the child. and as much as you love and nurture your children, one day they will become adults, who like us, will have to struggle day to day to make a living in this world.
i dont want to get flamed for this, because quite honestly, im not sure what i want in terms of kids yet. but the next time someone says it's selfish for people to not have kids, i think im going to have to say something.

And whatever you decide, thank you for being so honest and actually thinking about this issue with the enormous consideration it deserves. How many people do you know out there who jump into parenthood just because (insert any inane reason)
