NYC library card for ebooks?
I think I read that anyone was allowed to have a NYC library card.
How does that work?
Do they epub books like in Nassau and Suffolk?
How do you registrer for the card.

I did it online. The card comes in the mail - very simple.
They have more copies of books I think. It's great just having more than 1 card for ebooks.

Exactly like PP said, just apply online. I love NYPL so much more than Suffolk you get 21 day check outs and not that I need it - but can take out up to 50 books.

I signed up last night. The books I wanted were on backorder but at least I have more options.

You have more than 2 weeks for ebooks there as well. I can't remember how long though.

Yes I think you just set up an account with your name, address and library card. It's very easy and they even have live chat for customer service.

I just applied online for a card! But now I am realizing, I should have just gone to the library...there is one across the street from me. Now I have to wait 4 weeks then go in and activate it anyway. Oh well...
But I looked online and it looks like they have a good selection of books. Anyone know how long the wait usually is for a book? I assume the more popular books probably have a long wait.

You activate your card online. I never had to go into one. And it only took about 2 weeks to come so hopefully it's the same for you! You can rent online in the meantime with your temporary pin.

That temp card number they gave me is only 7 digits. It doesn't seem to work right saying I'm not a card holder. Am I doing something wrong?

me too! I should have just walked over to the library by me too. laziness.

It really depends on the book. There are a few that I waited so long I forgot I requested them. Others came in a matter of days or weeks.
