Recommend your bank PLEASE
We're shopping for a new bank/credit union to do most of our banking with.
Anyone love their bank? hate it?
I have my own, small savings account in a credit union upstate where I grew up, and we have a couple of CDs at other banks, but the majority of our money is with Chase and they're hitting us with ridiculous new fees every month.
Thinking of switching everything to Commerce or to TFCU -- any concerns I should consider?

Commerce is TD now.
I've belonged to them since they were Commerce and was very happy. When they first switched over there were a few minor problems. However, it seems that is all resolved. I like being able to use the penny arcade for me, we have an elite savings and earn very good interest (sorry, dont know the %), and the hours are fantastic (I love they are open on Sundays). I would definatly reccomend TD. You might hear some bad things because when they switched over, as I mentioned there were problems. However, I haven't seen any problems within the last two years.

I had Bank of America and am now at TD Bank, TD is very good is clearly up any discrepencies in a timely manner, BOA takes forever, i will be staying with TD.

this is a credit union.. you can't just walk in and open an account. you need to be a member.. (I know this because I am a member/accountholder here)
I have banked with every bank under the sun and now have an account with TD bank and am very happy.. no fees!

Are you happy with Chase? I feel their fees creep up on us, there are multiple mistakes each month, and yesterday when I spoke with our branch manager telling her I'm seriously considering switching, she said, 'Let me see what we can do and I'll call you back today.'
That was yesterday morning and she still hasn't called me back! I want some customer service and attention...
Right now TD Bank and tfcu are winning....

I had commerce and as someone posted before I had tons of problems when they switched to TD. I got hit with new fees every month. They also deposited someones elses check into my account. I really liked their online banking but now I'm with chase. So far no problems with chase

I would go with the credit union. Commerce/TD has a lot of fees now that they changed over.
I've had an account at TFCU since I'm 15 and I love them.
ETA: You can join if you live in Nassau or Suffolk.

I've been with TD since they were Commerce. There were lots of problems with the changeover, but since they seem to be on their game. You just need to be sure to always have $100.00 in checking or they charge you.

i jumped banks for a little bit, but i've been with HSBC for a long time now.. love it and they are international as well.. so i can withdraw their currency from a local bank.. worked out great for us..

we've been using Wachovia, which is now Wells Fargo since we moved to PA in 2008. there are no checking acct fees (only fees for non-wachovia atm withdrawals, overdraft fees,) but no per check or per month fees.
i have a business checking with them, money market, savings and regular checking, and DS has an account (although the savings is earning very little interest).
i have no complaints.
