Re: Grieving taxes?

I "think" the deadline for this was March 1. You can do it yourself, there is a form online or you can hire someone to do it for you. Sorry I am not much help and don't hold me to this b/c we haven't actually done it yet. We will prob do this next year.

Re: Grieving taxes?

We are in Suffolk Cty and grieved using Mark Lewis. Just filled out the form that came in hte mail (they have it online too) and he did the rest. Took over a year I think but we did win!
Then you pay him 50% of the 1 year savings. If they lose you pay nothing.

I think the cut off is in May.

Re: Grieving taxes?

In Suffolk County the filing period runs from May 1 through the 3rd Tuesday of the month. This year it's Monday 5/2 through Tuesday 5/17.

If you go to your town's website, they will have the forms available (usually on the Assessor's page).

In Nassau County, the deadline for the 2012/13 tax year has been extended to 4/22. It was extended because of some errors on the County's side this year.

Re: Grieving taxes?

We are in Nassau and grieved and there was no change. Now we are using an attorney for the appeal.
