Why do you think I built that house for my feral friend... I couldnt take it anymore.. We just have to do what we can ... Your a good person Goobster, Dont lose sight of that, and you always take time to help .. I am sorry we live so far apart

It makes me feel terribly helpless.
It thoroughly annoys me that people "buy" their animals from breeders.
Honestly, it's one thing from a pet store but to knowingly breed your dog to make money is just horrible. With all the animals that are trapped in kill shelters (some pure breeds too!) rescue groups, non kill shelters...and you go and BUY one? And they're not cheap either.
I see all those poor puppies in pet stores, and feel terrible because I know they probably came from a puppy mill. Then you have animal testing, and just plain old abuse. :(
There are some great organizations out there, but I feel like the bad out weighs the good.
If you want to show some support, check out Farm Sanctuary, Gentle Barn and of course NSALA and ASPCA

In the fall there was a kitty that would come in our courtyard, and I tried to catch her but did not succeed (it's an internal courtyard that I don't have access to so I left a kitty treat by my window and would open the screen if she came close. But she never came close enough).
Anyways, I haven't seen her since the winter, so I HOPE someone took her in. It was a bad winter and it makes me so sad to think about her in all that snow

Yes. I cry all the time when I hear all of these horrible things. My heart truly breaks for them. Wish I could rescue them all.

Yes. I joke with DH that if I ever win the lottery, I am going to start my own greyhound rescue! They are trying to close down a lot of racetracks in Florida after this season. If that happens, thousands of dogs will have no place to go. It will be terrible and breaks my heart. There aren't enough homes for the ones that retire off the tracks. If they close all those tracks at once...

I"d have a house full of dogs if it was up to me. DH has me on a 3 dog limit, at the moment. I'll wear him down though and end up with another one, probably after the holidays, we have too many vacations planned this year and I don't want to introduce a new dog to my existing pack and then go away.

I have 4 currently in my house I need to find homes for. 3 indoor one will have to be as the owner wants. She is not to friendly yet. On top of that i have my own 5 cats and 3 dogs. So I know the feeling!
