Sttn question? edited with another ques

When did your twins sleep through the night? And what do you consider sleeping through the night? Were they premies?

Thanks!

My babies are 3 months old and they are sleeping from about 10 to 5 ish. I can't get them to sleep longer than 7 hours. I see alot of the other babies their age on the parenting board are sleeping from 8 or 9 till 7 am. I am not sure how much 6 weeks prematurity makes a difference if even at all. But just want to make sure I am doing things right.

ETA: When do you stop waking the other when one wakes up to keep on the same schedule. I still do this

Re: Sttn question?

My boys BOTH started STTN around 6.5 months. They were born @ 36 weeks. Georgie would sleep for 12 hours from 5mo on. Hunter was having surgery and I just couldn't do CIO on him until he was fully recovered. By 7mo, they were both sleeping 11-12 hours a night (and still do thank god!) Chat Icon To me, STTN is not getting up before 6am!

Re: Sttn question?

My twins are the same age as yours and only one of mine STTN. My DD will go to sleep around 8:30-9 and sleep until about 6-6:30. My DS on the other hand is the complete opposite and wakes every 2 hours. People keep telling me it is because she bigger then him but she started sleeping 8 hour stretches at 5 weeks old. My DS has never done that. Im not sure what to do to get him to sleep better. So much for twins doing everything the same lol

I think somewhere between 10-13 weeks? It was once they hit about 8lbs. They started sleeping from 8:30-9:00ish til about 5:00 on the weekdays (only because we wake them up to get ready) and about 7:30ish on the weekends. I feed them whenever they are hungry. They get about 4 7oz bottles a day. If one cries for food, I still feed the other to keep them on the same schedule.

I honestly cannot remember their exact age ( probably bc that whole time frame was such a sleep-deprived blur! Chat Icon ) But Im pretty sure it happened in December sometime. That would have made them about 3 months old. They were born 10 weeks early.

Now they go to sleep anywhere between 8-10 and are usually up around 6/7 a.m. I really can't complain.

I think I stopped waking one if the other was up around 2mo. Don't you know...never wake a sleeping baby. LOL! Seriously though, if you stop waking 1, eventually they will stretch out their sleep. You'll get through this! Chat Icon

Are you always waking up the same baby during that last feeding? If so, I would stop waking up the other one. See how long your DD can last.

Yes pretty much 99% DS is the one to wake up...my only fear is if I don't wake DD she will wake up just as I am going back to bed. But I will give it a try.

2 1/2 to 3 months for about 10-12 hours, at 9 months they are doing less 8-9 hours. i found giving them cereal at night helped them sleep longer/better. i started cereal from a spoon at 3 months.

My babies are 11 weeks old, and we put them down after their 7:30 bottle so they usually fall asleep by 8:30.they have been sleeping till 4 a couple of times they slept till 5. I still wake the other one to feed because as you said I am afraid once I feed one then the other will wake up anyone. They are hungry though when I feed them.
