A question...about therapy sessions and therapists
when your DC has a therapy session (OT) does the therapist just come out and say okay we did X,Y and Z and that is it - or do they answer questions, or make suggestions on how you can help your DC at home etc?
DD had her 1st session today - I would like to see what others say before I post more b.c not sure if I expected something different from what actually happens.

Re: A question...about therapy sessions and therapists
Our OT answered questions and we would chat for a few minutes about his progress. I would usually ask if there is anything I could do with him at home and she would give me work sheets or ideas for at home. I usually would ask though, she never asked me to carry over anything at home without me asking.

Re: A question...about therapy sessions and therapists
my therapist always answered questions and made suggestions... but our situation was different.
we also had a log book that each person had to write in, so i always knew what each person did or what each person was working on.
suggestions were given to me when i asked if there were things he needed (no therapist should tell you, you need to get X,Y,Z) but if you ask if there is something that would help they may suggest something (it also has a lot to do with your rapport with the person)
we had out OT when AJ was 15 months old and she left us when he turned 3.

Thank you we had a different therapist today and it was a very different experience.
