Broke my tooth last night
All I did was chew an Immodium tablet, and all of a sudden, I'm tasting something hard !!! Yuk!!!! Part of my bottom molar broke off!! It had a filling, so pieces of that broke off!! I think I swallowed some of that!!!! Anyway, we do not have dental insurance. Never have. We took great care of our kids' teeth as they were growing up, but no money for Mom/Dad. Recently DH, had a lot of teeth break, and he had them pulled, then got a denture plate? Not sure if that's called a partial plate or bridge or what. He put hundreds of $ on his credit card!! He said I could go, but I never did, because I didn't want to put more $ on the credit card. But, my old fillings are coming out, and I have periodontal disease ( I'm diabetic), and now I have a broken tooth!! I called a local dentist office here in Lancaster, and the receptionist was very nice. What attracted my attention, was their Yellow Page ad that said they give discounts to people without dental insurance. And, I was assured they can put us on a payment plan. Did I mention I had a nightmare last night, with me on a stretcher, and a dentist, holing a HUGE SYRINGE/NEEDLE, standing over me?? I hate drills, and I hate needles in my mouth!!!! And, why the hay are dentists so expensive?? Mary
Note to Jill Harth, who did my makeup at Debi's '08 Wedding in Long Island: " JILL, I'M FINALLY GETTING MY TEETH FIXED, HON!!!!"
The stuff ya talk about when getting makeup done!!!!

Mary, do you have a college nearby that teaches dentistry ? Often times they have clinics where students do the dental work, under supervision of course. These aren't beginning students, but ones who are ready to graduate. The clinics are usually low cost.

Hi, Suzi!! I don't think so, but I can check it out. I think I'll go to the dentist first, and see what happens, financially; If they treat me right, perhaps I'll stay, but if all that talk was not true, I'll go somewhere else!! Thanks!!!! Mary
