Re-introduction and FET Question
Hi Ladies! Some of you may remember me from awhile back… I was pretty active on the LIF boards (this one in particular) a few years ago (2008-2009).
My name is Jen, I am 36 years old and I am the proud mommy to a 19-month-old DD who was conceived through IVF. DH and I recently decided that it is time for us to go after the frozen embryos that have been patiently waiting for us since February 2009.
We had a consult with the RE two weeks ago and have been waiting for AF to start my first frozen cycle. (Of course, AF is 3 days late this time.) I started spotting this afternoon and, while not completely in full-force, I called at 3pm to make an appt. for CD2 tomorrow, knowing that if I didn’t call until tomorrow, there is no way that the weekend office could get my records because my office of RSNY is closed on the weekends.
I have a box of meds at home (Estradiol patches and PIO injections) waiting for me and I know that the FET is supposed to be on CD19. But I don’t know much else.
Could someone please tell me what a frozen cycle entails? Also, how important is timing, since I may have jumped the gun in my calling for my CD2 appointment?
Thanks!

Re: Re-introduction and FET Question
Listen, Ms. Drop of the Face of the Earth and only come back when you have a question....
I have no answers other than I had to cancel an CD3 appt. because AF tricked me into thinking she had begun and she had not
BTW how is Andy's future "older" wife?

Re: Re-introduction and FET Question
Welcome back! I just came back to this board last month for the same reason. My DS was born in July 2009 and I'm TTC #2 through FET.
I'm not sure about the Estrace because I'm doing natural cycles. I see my doctor for a sono around day 3-6 and then day 8, then from day 10 until they see that my egg is released. Once that happens they do blood work for 2 days and then the transfer 2 days after ovulation. I start Medrol and Doxcycline the night before the transfer and PIO injections after the transfer.
Good Luck!

Re: Re-introduction and FET Question
Hey you!
I can tell you what I recall off the top of my head... Delestrogen (some form of estrogen- mine are IM shots) PIO Clindamyacin (suppository) some other type of estrogen suppository Lupron
If you were ever on prednisone, probably that again.... I'm not near my meds box right now, but if I think of anything else I'll add it. I called you earlier- my phone never rang when you called. Left you a vmail.
ETA: I probably usually go in for CD3 later than actual CD3, b/c I tend to have AF come and go, then spot and then eventually show up--- and I figure better be 'more' cleaned out than less... it's just a baseline sono and bloodwork- (keep in mind I don't ovulate on my own so may not be the same for you) -- and they control me w/ meds from then on. Usually I think about 10 days of lupron and then after x # of days adding in the estrogen, etc... HTH!

Andy's wife is great. Exhausting, but a lot of fun.

Re: Re-introduction and FET Question
Thanks for the replies. I have been debating coming back, but doubted I'd "know" anyone.
I guess some of my 2009 ladies are in the same spot as me. Glad I'm not the only returning graduate.

Re: Re-introduction and FET Question
I went to RSNY also. and also to the WI office. I had to start the patches on day CD1, but the timing is not all that important. The goal of the patches is to build up your lining. one month my lining was not think enough , so they just moved the transfer date.
Hope I could be of help. Good Luck

Re: Re-introduction and FET Question
Welcome Back!
FETs for me are always dependent upon my lining and timing is everything.
I've had different FET protocols in the past but normally for a hormone FET, you have your supply of drugs like the estrogen and progesterone coupled with Lupron for suppression and then your monitoring appointments for blood and sono.
Again, I've never had a "date" to transfer, everything changes day to day and really goes according to my estrogen levels and lining.
Lots of luck
