Troop leaders
Can we share what kinds of field trips we took our troops on? I wanted to get some ideas for next year, and figured this was a good way to see what worked and didn't for other troops.
This year we took our Daisy troop to:
California Pizza Kitchen - great trip, they are really well organized. $2 per person tip for the server, girls got tour, made their own pizzas, got a brownie and a special CPK patch.
AC Moore - free, it was ok. First was a tour of the store which was obviously focused on the toy aisles. Then they took pictures of the girls at the framing counter and they all got to make a scrapbook page with the whole troops photos, which was fun. They gave out cute arts & crafts patches.
Stars on Ice at the Coliseum - these were discount tix through NCGS
Circus at Coliseum - discount tix through NCGS
Massapequa Orthodontics - free, the girls got a tour and explanation of how braces work, he gave out these fancy personalized patches that were really nice.
American Legion - our local post came by one meeting and taught the girls a little about flags, how to properly fold one and then gave our troop our own American flag. I believe it was a free program.
Memorial Day parade coming up.

Re: Troop leaders
Not a troop leader but my DD is a Daisy:
Holiday Time: the girls went to an adult home and sang christmas carols and gave out cupcakes and candy canes and got a caroling patch.
They did a Pretty in pink trip through GSSC where they made a pink craft and had pink snacks and got a patch - they also earned a petal
Daddy and Me Bowling
Circus through GSSC
They have the California Pizza Kitchen trip coming up in June
Atlantis Marine World - discount ticket and patch through GSSC
LI Game Farm Trip in June through GSSC
Fire Dept Tour and they earned their respect autority petal
Self Defense Class and they earned their courageous and strong petal
LI Ducks Game coming up in June through GSSC where they get discount tickets and a patch
I think there were also 2 plays but we didn't go. Snow White and I forget the other one where they got discount tickets and a patch
They also did Stuff a Buddy through GSSC where they got a patch and got to make a stuffed animal
And a Teddy Bear Tea Party which was also through GSSC and they got a patch
Our troop also volunteered to help at a fundraiser last weekend for a little girl who has San Filiipo disease and they earnined their make the world a better place petal for that

Re: Troop leaders
I just a tour of TD Bank with my Cub Scout den. There's a goody bag (coin bank, coloring book, calculator, etc). They kids get a tour, and if the parents open an account, the kids get $10 in the account.
There's a small historical society in Ronkonkoma that I took the boys to last year. For us, it was cool because it was local history, with pics of the area from 100 years ago, and artifacts from nearby.
