Anyone do keratin express? Update!

What has your experience been? Also what type of hair do you have?

***********************************
Well, I got keratin express last weekend and I'm really loving it!! Chat Icon

My hair stays so smooth from the time I blow dry it to the time I wash it again. I don't notice a huge difference just looking it it, but on a humid day, it doesn't puff it and looks the same as it would any other day.

I'm really happy I did it .. now just hoping it lasts at least 8wks like my hair person said it would if I use the right shampoos!!

Re: Anyone do keratin express?

no... but i'm bumping bc i would love any feedback also.

if i blowdry my hair, it gets very straight without a problem but in the summer, humidity/frizz is a huge issue for me - and if i air-dry my hair is a wavy-frizzy mess. my hair stylist recommended the keratin express for me, to fix my frizz problem... and i'm intrigued. i have to wear my hair pulled back for work every day, so sometimes, i'd much rather air dry than waste time on blow drying - especially in the dead of summer. but the frizz is just out of controlChat Icon

i'd love feedback from anyone who got this done... especially from girls who got it done a couple of months or more - ago. to see if you were really happy with the results overall: how long it lasted, was it worth it etc

Re: Anyone do keratin express?

I got Keratin Express done at a salon in Boston. It cost me $85, so i thought i would give it a try. I have thin hair, but a lot of it, super curly. I dry it straight everyday and usually also use a straightener. I was told that it would only last 4-6 weeks. I have to say I was very happy with it. About 1 week after i had it done, i had to go to Vietnam, where the weather was 95 degrees and extremely humid. I think that could have been the ultimate test. While I had to dry my hair everyday...it wouldnt frizz through out the day. If I wanted my hair to be curly, i still had my curls, but not the extreme frizz. I would do it again, especially since it was only $85, however it only lasted about 4 weeks.

Hope this helps.

this is the place that charges $60? and with this treatment do you still have to blow dry and/or straighten your hair or will it be straight if you let it air dry?

yes, it is $60. i had to cancel my appointment because while i knew i would not be able to wash my hair for 24 hours, i didn't realize/think that i wouldn't be able to pull my hair back in a ponytail etc for that length of time either. i had made the appt for sunday, and had work monday - and i HAVE to wear my hair up. thank goodness i did think to call and check 1st or i woulda been in deep poo after the fact.
i will be getting it done instead, the next time i have to color my hair in about a month or so and will make sure to make the appointment for when i don't have work for the next day or so!
my hair, if i let it air dry now, is just frizzy with a little wave to it - so from what i understood from my hair stylist, it would make it straight if i air dry it as well. that is my whole purpose - because i don't have curly hair, so when i blow dry it, it is perfectly straight without a problem. i will post pics after i do it, or you can call the salon if you're interested or have questions. 751-6363

Debating on doing it as well. It's $100 at my salon and last 4-6 weeks. I have had the full keratin (cant wash your hair for 3 days) and loved it but want to try the express since I can wash my hair the next day. I am also curious to see how girls like it.

It wasn't bad getting it done, though it had a strong smell and my eyes burned a little- so I kept them closed.

Right now my hair is VERY flat and greasy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm told once I wash it (tomorrow morning) I'll love it .. soo ... I'll keep you ladies posted!!

Re: Anyone do keratin express? Update!

I got this done at Cactus last weekend-it looked great that day, and the next, but once I washed it, my hair is back to what it was. I'm so disappointed, I actually called to complain!

Re: Anyone do keratin express? Update!

i know this is an old post, but just wanted to bump it and add my experience for anyone who does a search.

i got the keratin express on friday afternoon... it was actually $80 bc of the length of my hair - ALL the way down my back.
it took about an hour & 10min... it looked pin straight after getting it done, but felt kinda icky. stiff.
i didn't wash it for 27 hours - they told me to wait 20-24hrs.
i let it air dry the 1st time after i washed it. it dryed with a slight wave to it, but bthat's probably bc i let it dry while laying down/sleeping etc. normally, if i let it air dry though it is a huge frizzy mess. even after sleeping all night, it was still presentable.
today is a humid monsoon, and i can imagine what it would look like normally, even with a blow dry and straightening iron. i blow dryed it like normal, but no straightening iron and even in prob 100% humidity and pouring rain, it is perfectly pinstraight all day long.
loving it Chat Icon
now to see how long this lasts...
