How long would you let a sore throat go before seeing a doctor?
Mine started on Wednesday.. It's now Saturday night

I always worry about strep. I asked my dr how I can judge if I should come in. He said if you get a sore throat and don't get a cold within a day or two then you might want to think about coming in to get your throat checked.
But its hard to tell for me...I have a post nasal drip and my throat hurts often!
Do you have any other symptoms?

Not really, def no cold symptoms, just a bad sore throat but I also noticed I got two canker sores in the back of my mouth- one on my gum and the other under my tongue. Im convinced what's in my throat is a canker sore

Sounds like strep, I'm afraid Have you taken a flashlight to look at the back of your throat? The hallmark of strep is white sores in the back of your throat. Get to the Dr! If untreated, strep can turn into Scarlet Fever!

Two days. Then to the doctor I go. Sore throats is the one thing I don't fool around with.
I've had some nasty throat infections because I kept thinking a sore throat would go away.

I get canker sores alot. Actually funny you say that...tonight i noticed under my tongue on the side is sore, and now my throat is sore on that side too. I KNOW it's the canker sore, so I won't worry about it.

I had a virus that started out with a horrible sore throat. I gave it 3 days until it was starting to be some weird mucus thing where I could barely swallow & then headed to the doctor.
If it's still bothering you, I'd go. No sense prolonging the recovery time of a bacterial infection if you could be on an antibiotic.

Yes, it can absolutely be strep without a fever.
I went 11 days back in December with a horrible sore throat before going to the emergency room to be diagnosed with strep. I had no other symptoms except the sore throat that felt like I was swallowing broken glass every time I swallowed. I actually had no pain unless I was swallowing. If it is really bothering you, get it checked out. I lived for a week and a half with the pain and after a steroid shot and first dose of antibiotics, I felt fine again! Feel better!
