Celiac disease
Anyone have this?
What are your symptoms?
How were you tested?
I am starting to think I may have this. Im considering being tested but not sure whats involved. Do I make an appt with my regular doctor?

Re: Celiac disease
I don't have this but I have people in my family that do. You should go to a gastro dr. They can do a test to see if you have it.

Re: Celiac disease
My husband was just diagnosed.
He has had stomach problems throughout his life. Every now and then he would get excrutiating pains in his abdomen. He went to a Dr years ago that did a bunch of tests and couldnt find anything wrong. I recently sent him to my primary care dr. (Getting DH to go to a Dr is a miracle in itself)
They drew some blood and the results showed he had the atibodies for celiac. (or I guess wheat/gluten) I dont know specifically. But the #s were very very high. Like 145 when they should be under 45.

Re: Celiac disease
I was a nanny for a boy who was eventually diagnosed with celiac disease. This is going back about 13 years ago.
He would have terrible stomach pains, mostly at night. He had bouts of throwing up and diarreah. Pretty much those 3 things on a regular basis. He was normally OK during the day, but when he went to bed at night he was miserable. I would be up with him all the time at night.
I don't remember exactly what testing they did on him to finally diagnose him, but I can tell you that once they knew it was celiac and he started eating the right foods, he was a whole new child!
Good luck!
