announcing your pregnancy
What are some creative ways you've told your family? I want to tell mine so bad next weekend when they are over for July 4th but DH thinks we should wait till after our first dr appt, which I agree I guess..

Re: announcing your pregnancy
The first time around, we ordered custom fortune cookies online and had a poem printed on the inside. Then we ordered Chinese and swapped out the fortune cookies on the way to my ILs. This time, we just put our son in a big brother onesie

Re: announcing your pregnancy
We are a little obsessed with out shih tzu Bacci so we bought him a t-shirt that says "I'm gonna be a big brother" and we had all of our family over for dinner and I snuck the shirt on him and let him run out into the living room where everyone was hanging out.

Crashing,...this is what we did for my parents...you can do Red, White and Blue Colors. My mom went nuts, she kept reading it over and over and then looked at me like WHAT??? It was pretty cool!

Re: announcing your pregnancy
It was easy because it was Christmas time. For DH I wrote dad on a santa hat My parents we got them bear ornaments that said grandma & grandpa (it was cute because they call each other bear ) And his parents we gave them a card saying "the best thing about christmas is grandparents" & had his mom read it while we were opening the gifts. I was only 8 weeks but I couldn't sit through Christmas dinner & not tell anyone.

Re: announcing your pregnancy
Just don't do what my SIL did and send a text with her pee stick that said pregnant. Very tacky IMO.
Congratulations!

Re: announcing your pregnancy
This time around we didn't do anything creative because of the situation I am in but the first time around we gave our parents framed sonogram photos which went over really well. As of now my Mom and Dad know and it's only because I'm a nervous wreck and if something happens when my DH is away at work I'll need someone around for support. I also see them a lot and with the way I feel it's kind of obvious something is going on with me. I didn't really get to surprise them with the news this time, I just told them after I got my beta results and swore them to secrecy. We are all kind of holding our breaths right now. But the first time around telling was a lot of fun. I'm still hoping to do something fun to tell in-laws and our siblings.
