Losing MP
I am 38w5d and I *think* I just lost my MP, or at least part of it. I've been having slowly increasing blood pressure the past week, and had an extra doctor's appointment yesterday to monitor it, it was higher than it was on Wednesday, and now need to go back tomorrow to check it again. My water hasn't broke and isn't leaking, and I don't think I'm having contractions. Sorry for TMI, but there was a tiny tinge of blood to it just before. Is this something that I need to call the doctor for, or not because losing it doesn't mean labor is immediate? I just don't know because my blood pressure has been creeping up if that means I should let them know.

Re: Losing MP
No need to call the doctor for losing your MP unless you feel "off" and want to (but it can certainly wait until tomorrow). The MP can regenerate, so losing it doesn't necessarily mean labor is imminent.
Just a tinge of blood is fine. When you lose the whole thing, it'll be super bloody more likely.
I lost mine over some time during the 3 weeks before DD was born... it was all gooey and stuff. But then the night I went into labor, every time I had a contraction, I had to pee really badly and HUGE HUGE HUGE chunks came out. When it got super bloody is when I went to the hospital. I was 5 cm 100% and contracting every 6 minutes at that point. I lost even more of it while I was in labor there.
You won't miss it when you're in labor, so just kinda hang out and keep taking care of yourself for now. Stay hydrated!!!!

Re: Losing MP
Last week or the week before, my dr said to call at any sign of blood, contraction or minimized movement. I'm also High Risk so IDK if all dr's say that or not.
I've been waiting for the MP... but not happening. I firmly believe if it wasn't for the scheduled C... or the GD (which ultimately means they won't let me go passed my DD) I would probably be going LATE!!!
It's good you are going to the dr tomorrow. if you don't call today, you can definitely make sure to tell them about it. Sorry about the BP and all that stuff. Let me know how it goes!!
I can't believe how close we are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Losing MP
These posts are giving me some pretty gross visuals but it's good to hear it like it is. Not many people tell you tel reality of these things. So thanks for sharing the needed TMI

Re: Losing MP
woohoo! sounds like something is brewing. I actually lost my MP @ 35wks with both pregnancies, then lost it again the day before my water broke with DS1 (37w, 5d).
Mine was exactly like yours - tinged with a little blood. I never experienced super bloody MP like someone else mentioned, so keep in mind that everyone is different. In fact, I never experienced super bloody at all until I was 10cm dilated and ready to push....17 hrs AFTER my water broke.
isn't pregnancy glamorous? LOL
