it's not that we didn't like it per se... nicotine replacement therapy never worked for me. i tried inhalers, nicorette, electric cigarette. the only things that worked for me were 1) the easy way to stop smoking (book by Allen Carr) (after like 6 months smoke free i made the STUPID mistake of thinking I could have "just one"). 2) BFP
My DH felt ridiculous using the electric cigarette, and is currently addicted to nicorette.

Re: Electric cigarette?
DH and I tried it and it didn't work for us either. Smoking it just made me crave a real cig even more.

Re: Electric cigarette?
My parents have both smokes since they were 12 and I never remember a time where they even tried to quit. Recently my dad told me that they were trying the E cigarette. My mom now only had only 1 "real" cigarette in a whole week, and then she only uses the E cig when she gets home from work. No more multiple cigarette breaks at work. My dad says when he breathes in now he can feel the breathe go all the way down to his lungs, breathing free-er. The one they got is made my a company called Janty and they bought it online. So far I am really proud of them both. But I guess it doesn't work for everyone.

Re: Electric cigarette?
I quit cold turkey on December 1, 2006.
I found a site called quitnet.com and the free forums and advice helped me a lot! My [then] fiance (now wife) was awesome! She went to the store, bought me a bag of fireballs, cinnamon gum, lollipops and everything else. Day 3 was the hard day for me, she came in and I was crawled up in a ball on my bed. That was the only really tough day I had. Their quit-net gadget is fun too. After 12 years of being a smoker, I have not had 1 since quitting. N.O.P.E.! (Not One Puff Ever!)
Here are my stats. 1698 days, 8 hours, 10 minutes and 22 seconds smoke free.
42459 cigarettes not smoked.
$11,143.12 and 10 months, 24 days, 8 hours of your life saved. Your quit date: 12/1/2006 12:00:01 AM
I never updated the price from $5.00 / pack! As far the electronic cigarette - try it. Try everything or anything, just as long as the end result is NOT SMOKING!
Best of luck to your husband! My advice to him, next time you want s cigarette, don't. Its really not that hard. The thought of quitting is much more difficult then the actual process of quitting.
