Has anyone delivered at Good Sam lately?
One of my friends just had her baby there and she said the hospital gave her NOTHING for free Not even extra diapers! I was so looking forward to taking everything I could get my hands on!

We were told that each day the baby comes to the room, the cart he is on will be filled with diapers. With a wink, she stressed that they are filled daily. In other words, load up as you go. It's not the type of thing that they will HAND you as a goodie bag, but more that you have to take matters into your own hands.
I don't know what else other places give for free? I'm a fan of free stuff, so I'd love to know! Or maybe we're better off not knowing since it sounds like us Good Sam girls won't be getting that stuff!

yes you can take what is given to you daily but they aren't going to hand you a supply on your way out.. but if you collect well then you will go home with a nice supply..

Re: Has anyone delivered at Good Sam lately?
I just delivered on July 4th, and at discharge the nurse told me to make sure I took home everything in the cart/drawer(diapers, dry wipes, Vaseline, nasal aspirator, formula if not breastfeeding, etc). She said that if you don't take it when you leave, they actually have to throw it all out. So I was encouraged!

Ahhh I didn't know this! thanks for the tip. Considering the hospital pretty much charges you for breathing their air, I don't feel so bad having sticky fingers!

How was your stay there? This is my first overnight visit to a hospital and im a lil nervous I am having a section, if that matters.

I wasn't a c-section but the stay there was good. It was actually my second delivery there. The first time I got lucky and was put in a private room, but this time I had a roommate but it wasn't as bad as I had worried about. I did have some issues with feeling like the nurses were slow to respond to some of my calls, but overall it was a good experience.

Re: Has anyone delivered at Good Sam lately?
I delivered at Good Sam 2 mos ago and I got so much free stuff, it's unreal.
Diapers, wipes, medicine droppers, breast pump tubing, bottles, nipples, nursettes, etc.
When I was running out of the 2.5 oz Medela bottles for the breast pump, I asked for a few more and they gave me about 25! The nurses told me that I should take EVERYTHING they have in the cart because they can't re-use it for the next baby.
Both the regular maternity nurses as well as the NICU nurses were filling up bags for us like you wouldn't believe.

Re: Has anyone delivered at Good Sam lately?
I delivered there 3 weeks ago. First off, I had a really great stay. The nurses were incredible the entire time. When we were leaving everyone made it a point to tell me to take everything we could. And then one of the nurses actually filled up a backpack with stuff - formula, bottle nipples, vaseline, etc. Definitely take everything.

Re: Has anyone delivered at Good Sam lately?
It depends on the nurse. But yes, everyday take some stuff. Bring an empty bag and fill it up! 2 people I know just delivered at Good Sam, both C-sections and both had a good experience.
