*UPDATE*Have an interview tomorrow @11 and have some questions

-How should I wear my hair? Is a low ponytail okay?

-The "best" interview shirt i have is sleeveless - not a tank, just sleeveless. Is that okay?

-I have a vacation already planned and paid for in October. Should I mention that now or if/when I am offered the job?

I need a serious pep talk, have not been on an interview in some time!

*UPDATE* 8/19
I sent a thank you email the day after the interview. Yesterday was 1 week since the interview, and still had not heard anything so I called the person I interviewed with. I didn't realize until the phone was ringing that the # I was calling (the # on his business card) was apparently his cell (it said phone/text on the card). I left a message and still have not heard anything.

FRUSTRATING!

It's bad enough I feel like I am applying to jobs everyday and hear nothing back, but to go on an interview, feel like it went well and to hear NOTHING, even after sending an email and leaving a voice message.

since you're wearing a sleeveless shirt i would wear your hair down, but i think the sleeveless blouse is absolutely fine! i wore a sleeveless blouse and pencil skirt to an interview...it's hot out and they understand that! i would wait to tell them about your vacation until you're offered the job. then you can accept on the condition that they're ok with you going on your vacation. it's tough out there right now so you don't want to give them anything negative during the interview that they could use against hiring you over someone else!

How'd the interview go?

I realize I am late to this, but I think your outfit sounds fine.

In general, I think I would ask at an interview questions regarding vacation policy and sick time when you are a new employee.

We've recently hired some new staff who didn't ask and were a little taken aback that the agency can dock your pay for I believe up until you've been employed for a full year.

Benefits is another good one to focus on.

My agency also does not pay for family health insurance and we recently had someone join us who came from a non-profit where they footed the entire bill, so needless to say, was a little shocked when they realized how much they would have to pay towards the plan.

Given the nature of the position, I also think it's really important to ask about things like supervision, who to go to for support, etc.

Thank you for the comments & suggestions. I felt the interview went well, but I've felt that about other interviews and heard nothing back.

I was told they would be making a decision early next week. So I wait.

I was nervous, b/c there are certain things I would really like from a new position/employer.

no, do not wear sleeveless. put a cardigan over it.
