Moms with PCOS...What did you choose for birth control?

I'm 8.5 week PP and just woke up to AF. I was told to make another appt with my dr when that happened to discuss birth control.

What did you choose and why?

On a side note...this is the first time in 2 years that I didn't start bawling at the sight of it

I went back on the pill I needed something to regulate me.

I am 8m PP and AF has yet to arrive. I am BF so that could have a lot to do with it. Once I stop BF I'm going to go back on Yaz. Many people had problems with it, but I really loved it!

I was on ortho-tric-cyclen for 12 years before I gave birth without a problem. After I gave birth I was put on Apri (supposed to be better at not decreasing your sex drive) and within in 5 months I develpoed a blood clot in my lung which they are attributing to my birth control pills. After I had the clot, I looked up Apri and it says it has a higher chance of blood clots than other pills. My advice, don't use Apri and read the precautions om whichever one your dr prescribes. I did not realize a 32 year old coucld have blood clots. That was an awakening. I am now on an IUD, but I am having very odd cycles.

honestly? nothing...I figure if I got preganant with only ovulating once a year, then it would be divine intervention

paraguard. can't use anything hormonal bc of clotting issues and were done having children but i couldn't go the 100% permeant route

Right now we aren't using anything even though we are done having kids. Strangely enough AF came back at 10 months pp and has showed every 30 days for the past year. I am planning to get Mirena but haven't had a chance to make the appointment.

Nadda. Took 4.5 years for #1, so I'll let God decide if/when we have another! I am SO done with pills, hormones, the whole scha-bang. I have gotten 2 periods PP though, so you never know!

Nothing and now I'm due again in Feb

Pull and pray and sometimes condoms.

We aren't using anything, but we wanted to get PG again right away. Lucky for us we did, unfortunately we lost that one. Now we are still not using anything and I'm back on clomid.

When I spoke to my doctor about it after DD, he pretty much said the only "treatment" for PCOS would be birth control pills so I'll be back on those some day I guess.
