Milk Allergy and Pancakes

I want to make DS (10m) pancakes, but most of the boxed mixes contain milk or are processed in a facility that uses milk, etc. Does anyone have a specific brand or alternative for pancakes?

Also, if egg yolks are only given until one year, does it matter if some products contain eggs?

TIA!!

We found Hungry Jack that doesn't have milk. Not sure about the milk facility b/c DS's allergy is not too severe.

There are also dairy free recipes online. YOu could always sustitute soy, almond milk, coconut milk in for a recipe.

Bisquick (reg and reduced fat), Aunt Jemima Wheat, or Shop Rite Brand Complete mix (just add water). With Shop Rite make sure it's just complete mix not the buttermilk complete mix.

I get a mix from Whole Foods, not sure of the name though. I use coconut milk and applesauce to substitute for milk and eggs.

Probably Cherrybrook Farms. I use their mix because it doesn't use eggs. I think they call for rice milk on the box. I'm going to have to try the applesauce, I never thought of that!

I think that's it. It's in a brown paper bag, right?

Re: Milk Allergy and Pancakes

Thank you for all the responses! I did see the Aunt Jem Wheat mix, but I am not sure of the taste. As for Bisquick, there is a "D" next to the kosher symbol. Doesn't that mean there is dairy/a dairy facility?

I will check Whole Foods, hopefully soon!

Thank you again!

recipe The D means dairy in Kosher laws. I am linking a recipe for dairy free pancakes. They are extremely easy to make. We only make them from scratch at home, but we use milk. This recipe is based on the one I use. We love them.

My DS is anapylactic to dairy and is able to eat bisquick so I wouldn't worry about the kosher symbol. It doesn't list any dairy ingredients or say it's made on shared equipment so I started using it and he's been fine. I mix it with soy milk.

Thank you! I was nervous about giving bisquick. I'll prob try it with water first!

Yes! I use Cherrybrook kitchens - DD loves their pancakes.

They are diary and egg free. You make them with soy milk.

No, its a purple box. They sell it at other places too, my mom has gotten their mixes at stop and shop.
