I can't take the spit up!

It is CONSTANT!! Both DS and DD are happy spitters but I just can't take it anymore...it is all day long.

I have tried different formulas and nothing has helped..the doctors just brush me off.

Between changing their bibs, changing their clothes, changing their sheets, cleaning the furniture, cleaning the floor and cleaning their toys....I am exhausted and I smell like puke!!

Thanks for letting me vent!

Re: I can't take the spit up!

DD does a lot better with the enfamil AR.

How old are they?

DD1 was THE WORST. I swear I still have nightmares of puke. She got A LOT better by 9 months.

DD was the same. The AR formula helped but it still wasn't 100%. Even on Axid she spit up.

It gets better by around 9 months or so!

OMG! I could have written your post myself! I feel so bad complaining as I"m not even the one who is spitting up all day long, but it's out of control. I just want to hug my baby sometimes and know if I do that I will end up covered in spit up! It's just awful. I find myself wishing away time so it will go away but I don't want this phase when he's so small to go so fast. Hang in there...we're not alone

Re: I can't take the spit up!

Thanks everyone. I just needed to complain for a little bit. Feeling better now I am all showered and clean. I feel so bad for anyone that comes over and wants to hold them. I warn them but I don't think they have any idea how bad it is and the next thing you know they are covered in puke!

I tried Enfamil AR and it hasn't helped at all. DS actually was worse and it looked like it was irritating him when it came up. Anyone have any luck with any other formula?

They are 7 months now so hopefully it will get better soon!

Thanks again!

Hope it ends soon for all of you that are dealing with it tooChat Icon

OMG This was me with DD1! I would freak if people wanted to hold her and panic the whole time standing there with a burp cloth. It SUXXXXX.

I did so much laundry and she would just puke again.

It will get better soon .... She's 2.5 now and it is a distant memory.

DD is also a happy spitter but i have to time EVERYTHING! like her morning feedings need to be before she gets dressed and then I need an outfit to get on her that isnt going to rock her belly. Not to mention i can't get dressed until she is bc you know I will have puke down my shirt! I am so happy iit doesn;t bother DD but the mess is insane! I am with you!

Re: I can't take the spit up!

LOL- I hated that too! DS spit up the first year of his life. I would also be paranoid of people holding him. He got a few of my family members. Chat Icon

The good news, it is now (@15 months) a distant memory.

Hang in there! Chat Icon

Re: I can't take the spit up!

I hear ya!

DS's spitting up is sooo bad this week. He is 8 months and it was so much better, this last week it is terrible.

I dont know if I should change formula or what!

I know what the doctors will say,'he's gaining weight, he's not in pain, blah blah"

I thought last night as the spit up ran down my neck, down my chest, thru my clothes, " I'm so tired of being spit up on."

And I'm tired of people holding him & then making comments to me that they got spit up on. You know he spits up, you wanted to hold him! Dont make comments at me, I get spit up on ALL day and night.

DS was/is a happy spitter. I bought Colic Calm from the drugstore and it has helped ALOT!!! Its more expensive than the other Gripe Waters out there but I think its so worth it!!
