There is no way I could afford to invite the whole class. Besides classmates we have cousins and outside friends as well. It would be close to 35-40 kids. I don't feel bad not inviting the whole class either. Why would she invite kids she isn't that close to? I feel badly if kids feelings are hurt but DD already knows she's not invited to every party and she's ok with it. I wish I could but its too expensive.

I do get the budgets are tighter these days, but this is exactly why you extend the offer.

Or on the flip side, say no school friends, period. Sorry, but I can't afford 22 extra kids, and even if I did girls only, her class is 75% girls!
