Dog walker - wwyd
I met with several (licensed) dog walkers about two months ago. The one we went with happened to be the most expensive but we were very impressed by her and Chloe seemed to like her a lot. She has been as great as we expected.
About a month or so into it she started having her daughter come sometimes. One day I was home and met her and wasn't super impressed. She talked on her phone the whole time and didn't give Chloe her full attention. She also didn't stay for 30 minutes - it was more like 20. But the main person was still coming sometimes too so I left it alone.
Now we are training Chloe to hold it longer. The idea is to eventually not need a dog walker. So it was recommended to us that we push the arrival time back a tad bit at a time. 15 minutes each week. I made this request to the dog walker. She said fine but she can't do it and is now sending another person.
I am not happy with this arrangement. I'm not really sure there is a point in even addressing it since the main person said she can't do the times of day I want.
Wwyd - address it anyway, get someone new or just stick it out because we should be done with a dog walker on a daily basis by the end of December?

I would look for someone new. A dog walker has access to your home and is responsible for your pet- you have to have some you are comfortable with.

I would look for someone new that can accommodate the training schedule you have, and especially someone you're comfortable with!

You can look for someone new but know if you are periodically changing the time you may have a different walker. I know my walker has a full schedule and if I kept changing my time they would probably have to switch the walker. That is why I went with a large company.....I know no matter what someone will be there for Rocky.

I think it is completely unacceptable that she started having her daughter do it in the first place. If it is a "service" type place with a bunch of walkers then I get it but IMO if you hire someONE, that person should be the walker every single day. Good dog walkers IMO are special people who love dogs- not just people who are looking for a job that fits their schedule- which it sounds like the daughter probably is.
As an aside, my dog CAN hold it in for 14 hours- which we have witnessed a few times when we got stuck somewhere on the weekend or in an emergency type situation but we still have a walker come every weekday despite that. For me, it's not just about peeing but also about some extra interaction and exercise. So, that's something to think about too! If it really isn't in the budget and you're gone many hours you could also consider wee-wee pad training- although that wouldn't work too well for our dog b/c she is very large and pees a ridiculous amount, lol.

She is a company, but her 'company' is her, her daughter and this other woman. But they are reputable, online, etc etc. She does this for a living. The main person -who I really liked from the get go - is obviously an animal lover. It is apparent in everything she says.
We started wee wee pad training her when we first got her but it wasn't working very well. Her kindergarten teacher talked us out of it, explaining all of the downsides to it and how much better it is to take her out so we listened. I've had two dogs that went on wee wee pads before - one ended up peeing all over the house and the other was pretty good. The teacher said that it isn't unusual for wee wee pad dogs to behave like my first one did.
I do hear what you're saying though about the extra attention! I just wish that extra attention didn't cost $300+/month!

ITA. She took the job because that particular time was available and now you're looking for a different time and it won't be available. I'd look for someone new and make them aware of your plan before hiring them.
